Thank you for this thoughtful post, and for looking deeper than the apparent arguments of the players. Much appreciated.

As was the Gilbert vid. Good stuff!

Hi Don....
I didn't see your comment there and perhaps you could post the link here? I just checked that forum and couldn't find it.

You're certainly welcome to repost anything I've written there or anywhere...just let me know where you do so, as I'd like to follow the discussion and perhaps take part. Thanks for your interest...

hi ravi: I dont' know if you saw my comment on your other page. Sorry for my delay. I really like your article. As far as the forum, I've decided to do far fewer posts on it, and the blog won't start for awhile. I was wondering if I could have permission, though, to post your article on her forum. I think it would get some very interesting responses. Thanks, Don (donsalmon7@gmail.com)

Hi Don...

Apologies for the delayed reply...I tried to find your topic on that forum and even commented on a post, but couldn't find your topic. I did see that you mentioned her new bright-sided blog and I would be happy to have an open discussion there (or here). I think I share many of Ms. Ehrenreich's goals and while I do believe in studying happiness as a science, I think there is indeed common ground.

If you're interested, I'll be starting a conversation tomorrow (Friday, January 22) on Barbara Ehrenreich's forum on Bright-Sided. So far she sounds open to hearing another perspective. The thread is titled "Dear Barbara: Before you speak at the psychotherapy symposium in March"

The website is: http://www.barbaraehrenreich.com/ehrenreich/forum/toast.asp?sub=show&action=topics&fid=5

Thanks. I 'm glad you are openminded to recommend people start thinking about what she says, and why positive psych is so often viewed this way. Your help commenting on the way she presents the research would be much appreciated.
